This YouTuber transformed his cheap 2015 Mercedes S65 AMG into its 2020 spec version, by using a fake $5K body kit from China

When he bought the car, it was the cheapest model in the country, and for good reason.

It had bad bodywork, a terrible vinyl wrap, and some mechanical issues that made it a perfect candidate for a rebuild.

He wanted to make the car his daily driver so he went straight to work.

Transforming a Mercedes S65 AMG using a fake body kit from China

Freddy Hernandez, better known as Tavarish on YouTube bought a cheap Mercedes S65 AMG, back in 2021.

The car was in quite bad shape so he decided to fix all the body work and a complete overhaul of the front and rear section.

The YouTuber is no stranger to weird car projects, as he has even a majorly damaged hand-built supercar for $250.

This project is just as weird because, with Chinese body kits, there’s no telling what you will get.

Lo and behold, as soon as they unpack the kit, they can already see some parts are slightly damaged due to poor packing, with one part bent.

A similar thing happened to Jackson – aka Captain Crankshaft – when he bought a $10,000 Chinese body kit to restore his Aston Martin Vantage.

Aftermarket parts

However, Tavarish didn’t lose hope and planned to fix the bent part using heat.

The kit included the bumpers, headlights, and tail lights.

All of them were sourced from China with most of them being plastic and some parts being carbon fiber.

Well, at least the Mercedes S65 AMG will be a lot lighter now and faster too.

After removing all the parts, they try to fit the aftermarket parts.

Despite some initial struggles, they managed to align them all.

By the end, the Mercedes S65 AMG looked amazing with the new body kit.

This is not the first time that someone has tried to restore a supercar using a Chinese body kit.
