The 1967 Pontiac GTO has been reborn as a high-end Pontiac restomod featuring an LS7 V8 and a fully custom interior, following a two-year, $1.2 million build.

This restomod merges classic American muscle styling with state-of-the-art engineering and contemporary luxury.

The car retains its iconic silhouette while delivering modern performance and comfort upgrades throughout.

Built with extreme attention to detail, this 1967 Pontiac GTO is far more than a cosmetic restoration.

How This 1967 Pontiac GTO Became a Six-Figure Restomod

The chassis has been swapped for a Corvette C6-based setup from Roadster Shop, allowing this 1967 Pontiac GTO to handle like a modern sports car.

Power comes from a 427-cubic-inch LS7 V8 fitted with a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger.

The engine bay has been treated with custom matte red valve covers, each embossed with Pontiac branding, and it sits at the heart of the build both visually and mechanically.

It sends power to the rear wheels via a 4L80E automatic transmission and a carbon fiber driveshaft.

Performance aside, the builders focused on refinement.

The custom interior is wrapped in deep red leather and accented with billet aluminum switchgear, machined pedals, and digital gauges.

Dakota Digital components blend seamlessly with the retro dash layout, while nickel-plated trim and stainless steel hardware elevate the finish.

Even the trunk has been reupholstered to match the cabin, and a 12-speaker stereo system with a subwoofer adds premium sound.

The level of detail inside this custom interior rivals that of high-end European luxury cars.

The LS7 V8 and its cooling systems sit cleanly beneath the restyled hood, which hints at the GTO’s added muscle.

With a Baer big brake kit, staggered 19- and 20-inch wheels, and a custom stainless steel exhaust, this Pontiac restomod delivers modern drivability with classic looks.

The bright aqua paintwork stands out against the red accents, staying faithful to the car’s original design language while showcasing its bespoke upgrades.

The balance between exterior presence and custom interior craftsmanship is a clear priority in this build.

All Eyes on the Auction Block at Monterey

Mecum Auctions will present the 1967 Pontiac GTO at Monterey Car Week, where collectors and enthusiasts are expected to take notice.

It is unclear whether the hammer price will match the build’s $1.2 million cost, but the car’s quality positions it among the most refined restomod builds ever brought to market.

Restomods like this continue to reshape collector interest in American classics.

Instead of preservation, the focus is shifting toward personalization and performance.

This particular 1967 Pontiac GTO has become a case study in how vintage cars can evolve without losing their identity.

Whether it finds a buyer willing to meet its worth or simply turns heads at the auction, this Pontiac restomod is a bold example of where craftsmanship and customization meet, inside and out, from chassis to custom interior.
