Someone in Indiana dropped the shell of a 1966 Mustang onto a 2008 Porsche 911 chassis.

This concept is going for sale over on Facebook Marketplace, and it’s about as strange as it sounds.

It’s certainly not the most obvious choice either, given that the 911 is three inches wider than the Mustang.

And with a wheelbase 15.5 inches shorter and a silhouette 7.3 inches smaller, perhaps this was always destined to look a little quirky.

Putting the shell of a 1966 Mustang onto a 2008 Porsche 911 chassis

It’s anyone’s guess what motivated this seller to put the shell of a 1966 Mustang onto a 2008 Porsche 911 chassis.

Whether or not you think this was an odd choice, you’d have to concede there’s probably an audience out there for this.

If you were to list off some of the specs about the two cars, you’d probably assume that this wouldn’t work.

After all, the 911 is three inches wider than the Mustang.

And that’s not forgetting the wheelbase is 15.5 inches shorter and the silhouette is 7.3 inches shorter.

As a result of the disparities, the end product does look a little…out of sorts.

Not that it’s bad necessarily, but a gearhead with a keen eye might think it looks off.

But there’s a lot of things to draw you into the car.

A 2008 Porsche 911 drives a lot smoother than a 1966 Mustang, and that comes with a lot of modern day conveniences too, like climate control and Android Auto.

If you think you could get on board with this undeniably creative mash-up, it’s going for $19,500 over on Facebook Marketplace.

You can find a lot of interesting cars on Facebook Marketplace these days

To say that Facebook Marketplace has a varied array of cars would be an understatement.

We’ve previously seen some brothers purchase an F-350 Super Duty from the site, while a rare open-cockpit Lamborghini Gallardo concept car also made it on there.

Does a Pokémon car and a Lightning McQueen wrapped Mazda ring any bells?

All of them make a Mustang-Porsche mash-up look positively mundane.
