A 1971 Plymouth Barracuda has been discovered in what might be one of the most unusual barn finds ever.

The car was hidden away in a 100-year-old horse barn, and it was literally resting atop decades of cow dung.

This rare E-body Mopar, a 383 automatic ’33 car’, had been tucked away since 2008, waiting quietly for a second chance at life.

The barn itself is full of history, dating back to the 1880s, and was once part of a sawmill and farm.

This 1971 Plymouth Barracuda is a rare time capsule

The Barracuda is a gunmetal gray billboard car, a rare variant of the 1971 model that originally came with a 440 engine.

The car currently has a 383 cubic inch V8 paired with an automatic transmission on the floor, along with a 391 rear gear.

It features a Suntan interior, aftermarket seat covers, and retains many stock details, including a two-speed wiper, power disc brakes, and a power steam cooler.

The hood houses a slightly modified 383, and while some parts have been replaced, such as a fender, the car remains largely intact.

The Barracuda also originally came with a trunk-mounted luggage rack, giving it that classic Mopar flair.

This find is part of a larger story

This 1971 Barracuda was originally sitting on a lot with a 1978 Super Coupe and a 1971 Charger, before being purchased for a modest price.

The owner plans to trade this car as part of a restoration deal for a 1976 Barracuda he is having restored.

The barn itself is full of Mopar parts, from big blocks to rare accessories, making it a treasure trove for collectors and enthusiasts.

Auto Archaeology’s video walkthrough showed every detail, from the engine to the barn’s historic boards, giving viewers a full sense of discovery.
