A 1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye has been kept in pristine condition and still features its original paintwork and interiors.

While there are plenty of Dodge Challengers still knocking about out there, few are in as good condition as this one.

Spotted at the 2024 Carlisle Mopar Show by YouTuber Junkyards and Barn Finds with Sean, the stunning car is a true time capsule piece – thanks to its time spent in storage.

The Dodge Challenger looks as fresh as the day it left the factory

Although we’re often used to seeing the downside to keeping cars in storage for years – such as this poor Classic Chevy that was abandoned for almost 50 years and was in such a bad state it’s unlikely to be seen on the road anytime soon.

On occasion, cars kept in storage remain in great condition, like this 1968 Chevrolet Impala that was totally rust-free and had less than 65,000 miles on the clock or this pair of Corvettes that were stashed away for decades.

And that also seems to be the case with this Dodge Challenger Rallye, which looks as fresh and as shiny as the day it left the factory more than 50 years ago.

The exterior paintwork and vinyl top are both original, as is the chrome trim and the strobe stripes.

YouTuber and host Sean, also confirmed that the interior of the car is all-original and in mint condition similar to the rest of the vehicle – incredible stuff.

It even had its original engine under the hood

Under the hood, the Dodge has its original 340 cubic-inch (5.6-liter) V8 and transmission that is capable of producing 240 horsepower.

Explaining how the car has remained in such great condition despite the passage of time, the YouTuber says it’s all down to proper storage.

No leaky roofs or exposed walls for this car.

It’s also only ever been very lightly used, with the odometer showing just 37,000 miles (59,546km).

In fact, in the last 35 years, the Dodge has only done 4,000 miles (6,437km).

And all of that extra love and care has paid off as the car looks absolutely mint.
