Someone forked out a whopping $131,945 for this 2023 BMW i7 xDrive60, put 20,000 miles on the clock, and then sold it for a whole lot less.

BMW’s i7 was the first of its 7 Series to offer an all-electric powertrain.

The 2023 BMW i7 xDrive60 offers an impressive 500 horsepower and this particular model also comes with the Sports Package Pro and Driving Assistance Pro Package to boot.

The owner was clearly keen to snap up the car, parting with more than $130,000, but has since decided to sell it – making a pretty hefty loss in the process.

The 2023 BMW i7 xDrive60 sold for a fraction of its original cost

We all know that cars can depreciate a lot in a relatively short amount of time – just take a look at this Aston Martin DBX707 that heavily dropped in price in just a year, or this 2023 BMW i7 xDrive60 that recently sold online.

The car is finished in Oxide Gray Metallic with a Tartufo extended Merino leather interior.

The owner had coughed up for the Sports Package Pro, which includes 21 inch M Aerodynamic two-color wheels, the M steering wheel, and plenty of other M Sport elements.

They had also opted for the Luxury Rear Seating Package, a BMW Individual interior, a top Bowers & Wilkins sound system, front massaging seats, and plenty of other goodies.

Other than a few marks and a bit of curb rash on the driver’s side front wheel, the car is in tip-top condition and cost its original owner  $131,945.

However, the BMW recently went up for sale online and was sold for just $57,751 – a staggering 56 percent less than its original price.

EVs depreciate faster than their gas-powered counterparts

While most cars will experience depreciation after being bought new, EVs see their value drop a lot quicker than gas-powered cars.

Tesla EVs are amongst the hardest hit by depreciation, with shocked owners finding thousands of dollars have been knocked off their value in a relatively short amount of time.

Similarly, a man discovered his $72,590 Ford Mustang Mach-E was told it was worth just $31,000 two years later.

And the owner of a Porsche Taycan says he’s been left with a vehicle that’s virtually worthless.
