Well, we had a teaser not long ago, but finally, the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has been unveiled, and gearheads will rejoice that a V12 is under the hood of the luxury car.
Mercedes had released teaser images and video of the new car recently, but this is our first full look at the new luxury S-Class.
As you would expect, opulence and luxury abound in the new sedan, with all the trimmings you’d expect from a high-end luxury car like this.
But possibly the biggest news is that there is no hybrid or electric motor in here, just good old-fashioned V12 power.

This is what sits under the hood of the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class
The company was first founded by Wilhelm and Karl Maybach to make Zeppelin engines.
But this car is a world away from those early days.
The full reveal of the car follows on from the recent brief teaser from Mercedes.
While luxury is the name of the game here, you can’t escape the big engine powering the luxury car.
Sitting under the hood of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is a 6.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V12 engine.

This punches out 621hp and 664lb-ft of torque for the luxury car.
Engines of this size are a staple of the brand, as first seen with the V12-powered ‘Zeppelin’ models.
Considering we are in a world leaning towards electrification and hybrids, this feels like a big outlier.
The V12 sits in the top-tier S680, but the S580 still has mighty twin-turbocharged V8 power.

This does come with some hybrid assistance, and pumps out 530hp and 553lb-ft of torque.
Remember, these are luxury cars, so these are some mighty impressive powertrains.
Yet the S-Class is still quiet, thanks to added insulation to keep the cabin as silent as possible.
How the 2027 S-Class elevates its luxury game
If you wanted to sum up the luxury inside the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, then look no further than the cupholders.
While that might sound quite standard, these are specifically designed for champagne flutes.
Yes, you did read that right.

These cupholders hold optional silver-plated Robbe & Berking champagne flutes.
If that wasn’t enough, the S-Class also comes with a massive MBUX-powered Superscreen.
The screen contains a 14.4-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch passenger display.
Completing it is a 12.3-inch instrument cluster.

To complete the vibe of opulence, the Maybach nicely cocoons every occupant in comfortable seats.
Should you want that little bit extra, over 400 interior and 150 exterior colors are available for the S-Class.
If you want to get your hands on all of this, dealerships in America are expected to receive the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in the second half of 2026.
So you’d better get saving.
