The highly-anticipated BMW M3 Touring is finally here.
Joining the M3 sedan and M4 coupe, the new wagon retains the same front-end design but adds a massive trunk at the back.
It’s perfect for hauling some flat-pack furniture. And hauling it quickly at that.
The M3 Touring goes from 0-100km/h in a mere 3.6 seconds.

Just one specification is offered, and it’s the right one – the full-fat Competition model.
That means you get the full 503hp (375kW) punch from its straight-six engine, along with all-wheel drive.
However, you can adjust the system to be rear-wheel drive only, making it possible to do big smokey drifts.
In a wagon. Oh yes.
It also rides on a set of black alloys that are staggered in size; 19-inch up front, 20-inch in the back.
Amazingly, the trunk remains unchanged in size from the regular 3 Series Touring.

That means you get 500 liters of space with the rear seats still up and 1500 liters with them folded flat.
There’s not much it’s really missing from the specification of the regular M3 sedan, although the carbon fiber roof is one obvious omission.
There is a 3D-printed roof spoiler you can brag to your mates about, though.
The M3 Touring also debuts the new screen layout you’ll see in other BMW models going forward.
A big curved display, somewhat like we tested in the Kia EV6, it puts a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch infotainment display together on the same panel.
Released in part to commemorate 50 years of BMW’s M division, it marks just the second official BMW M wagon.
The first was the E60 M5 Touring which was only offered in Europe in the late 2000s.
However, Alpina has offered its own hotted-up wagon versions of the 3 Series and 5 Series for some years now.
The BMW M3 Touring is set to make its in-person debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, June 23 to 26.
It will go on sale in Europe in September this year, priced from $108,100 (£88,550).
But sorry, America, you won’t be getting it.
