Balenciaga is teaming up with Crocs to make the 'world's ugliest shoe'

The latest collaboration between Balenciaga and Crocs has leaked online, and it could well be the world’s ugliest shoe.

An image taken by footwear designer Salehe Bembury shows the shoe, and it basically looks like Crocs with a massive platform base.

The shoe also has an Arctic camouflage scheme, just to really set off the unmissable new design.

It’s currently unclear what other color schemes will be offered or how much the platform Crocs will cost as the new shoe is yet to be released.

The two brands known for making ‘love it or hate it’ footwear first teamed up in 2017.

A precursor to these platform Crocs was revealed in the Balenciaga Spring 2018 runway show.

However, a slew of other collaborations between the two have emerged this year.

The first that reignited the pairing was a pair of Crocs with an 80mm stiletto heel, priced at $625 and offered in four colors.

Then, the unlikely collaborators teamed up on the Pool Crocs Slide Sandal.

The $565 sandals come in standard colorways as well as floral patterns.

They also feature a relatively tall platform base with no traditional rear strap.

Other Balenciaga Crocs collaborations

Soon to be released, the bulky $950 HardCrocs Sandal gives some indication of the pricing for these upcoming platforms.

The $895 Crocs Boot and $1250 Crocs Large Tote Bag round out the current range offered by Balenciaga.

Balenciaga also raised eyebrows a few months ago with the “extra destroyed” version of its Paris Sneaker.

As the name suggests, the sneakers look like they’ve been fished out of a dumpster.

Limited to just 100 pairs, they were priced at an eye-watering $1850.
