LeBron James is now the highest-earning NBA player ever: here's how he spends his money

LeBron James has made history yet again, this time as the highest-earning basketball player in NBA history.

The 37-year-old has agreed to sign a two-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers worth $97.1 million.

That brings James’ guaranteed career earnings to a whopping $538 million.

A two-year deal is the longest he’s allowed to sign at his age, but he can opt in for a third year in 2024-25.

Still going as strong as ever on the court, LeBron James is still raking it in off the court as well.

His total earnings last year alone was $126.9 million – more than any other athlete – and his net worth is estimated at $1 billion.

With that much wealth, King James has been able to splash some cash on some seriously cool cars.

So, here are a few of the coolest in the LeBron James car collection.

Porsche 918 Spyder

A clip that did the rounds on social media back in March revealed the most expensive car LeBron owns – a Porsche 918 Spyder.

While the 918 costs $845,000 new, values today are roughly double that at around $1.6 million.

The hybrid hypercar packs a 4.6-liter V8 and makes a whopping 875hp.

Although it can also drive silently on its electric motors for up to 19km (12miles), LeBron clearly isn’t afraid to put the hammer down in it.

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster

Like Kevin Durant, LeBron also has a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster in his car collection.

However, his was customized to match one of the tropical colorways for his Nike LeBron XI shoes.

Powered by a 6.5-liter V12, the Aventador makes over 690hp depending on which version you get.

And the Roadster is worth a cool $450,000.

GMC Hummer EV

The latest addition to LeBron’s garage is the brand new GMC Hummer EV, worth $110,295.

This SUV has some crazy tricks up its sleeve, including the ability to crabwalk.

Given he wore the jersey number 6 for the Lakers last season, his car wears VIN 006.

LeBron is an ambassador for GMC, which is how he managed to secure the early build slot.

Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet

After winning the NBA Championship in 2020, this crazy G-Wagen was added to the LeBron James car collection.

The Mercedes-Maybach G650 is defined by its laundaulet roof – a convertible top that’s only for the rear seats.

Just 99 were ever made, and this one is believed to have been bought by LeBron for a cool $1.8 million.

Mercedes-Maybach S500

LeBron is clearly a fan of Maybachs as he also has an S500.

The luxurious sedan comes powered by a twin-turbo V12 engine befitting of its original price tag of around $170,000.
