Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it’s likely you’ve heard the news about Lewis Hamilton.

The seven-time world champion has confirmed he is leaving Mercedes to join Ferrari in 2025.

The F1 star, who said he would be joining the team on a “multi-year contract”, is reportedly set for a big pay day when he joins The Prancing Horse.

Lewis Hamilton won’t be strapped for cash once he crosses the divide.

According to the Daily Mail, the Brit’s contract with Ferrari for 2025 is ‘already signed’.

And he’s apparently set to earn more than Charles Leclerc’s staggering salary of $50 million a year, with the 39-year-old currently paid $63 million every 12 months.

Lewis Hamilton previously denied talk of a potential move last year when he signed his latest deal with Mercedes, one that tied him to the team until next year.

But there have been ‘flirtations’ between both parties ‘for a while’.

Hamilton has been spotted driving Ferrari supercars off the forecourt of a Beverly Hills dealership, and also made a trip to the team’s factory in Maranello.

While the F1 world is reeling from the news, some fans are questioning the Italian F1 team’s decision to sign Lewis Hamilton.

There’s no denying the fact that he’s approaching the twilight years of his remarkable career.

But John Elkann, who is said to have pursued the racer, is said to be attracted by Hamilton’s ‘superstar status’ and the fact that he transcends fame across the world.

Over the past decade, Hamilton has become a global megastar, since making the move from McLaren to Mercedes way back in 2013.

It’s clear he’s joining Ferrari as he still wants to statistically become the best driver in F1 history.

He’s won seven F1 crowns over years, emulating Michael Schumacher, but he’d love to win one more to outdo Schu and stand out in front as the greatest of all time.

Best of luck, Lewis.
