Geely is launching an electric truck which could pose huge competition to Tesla’s Cybertruck.

The four-wheel drive (4WD) version of its Radar RD6 will be capable of handling extremely heavy loads and looks poised to be a real head turner.

We could see this impressive new innovation challenge the Cybertruck in the increasingly congested market.

The Chinese automotive company, Geely, own several car companies such as Volvo and Lotus.

They originally launched the RD6 as a rear-wheel drive truck in November 2022.

Strikingly, this version of the Radar RD6 will be unlike anything Geely have created before, and represents a real step forward in their ambitious plans to rival Tesla.

While the original RD6 was able to tow 2.5 tons, the 4WD version steps that up to 3 tons.

The brand’s CEO has even stated he wants this vehicle to have an acceleration that matches the Cybertruck while carrying these heavy loads.

On top of this, the handling of heavy loads are not to mean the RD6’s efficiency and range are affected.

In fact, these are clearly matters of prime importance to Geely, who have desired to create a vehicle of maximum utility.

It will also be equipped with state of the art technology and impressive radar systems.

While it may not have some of the wacky features the Cybertruck has, for example it may not be able to go for swim and turn into a boat, it looks set to impress.

Let’s just hope it’s able to pass the carrot test – IYKYK.

The original RD6 has been priced at $25,000, so we’ll have to wait and see if this version will also come at such an affordable price.

Given how much the costs on a Cybertruck receipt have surprised everybody – and price could be a big factor in which vehicle people choose.

Will you be interested in the 4WD RD6 as an option?

It will certainly be one to watch out for.
