Tesla is pushing ahead with plans to construct the world’s largest Tesla Supercharger station in the US.

The new station, which will be located in Kern County, California, will consist of 164 charging stalls as part of a new Microgrid project.

News of Tesla’s plans were recently shared in a tweet on X by user MarcoRP.

According to a development application filed in California, Tesla wants to build a brand-new Supercharger station in Lost Hills, around two and half hours from Los Angeles.

As well as 164 charging stalls, the station will also feature 16 pull-through chargers, catering to vehicles towing trailers.

The feature is designed to streamline the charging process for drivers of electric trucks and other towing vehicles.

Of course, these stalls will be particularly useful for Cybertruck owners.

Apparently, Tesla is using a microgrid comprising batteries and solar panels to make the Supercharger station more eco-friendly and reliable.

Basically, they’re using sunlight to generate power and storing extra energy in batteries.

What this does is helps them to use energy more efficiently, reduce how much power they need at once, and make charging cheaper.

The latter will be news to the ears of Tesla owners, although one owner shared his first electric bill in a year and the price left people shocked.

An exact timeline for the completion of the Supercharger station remains unclear.

However, the location of the new station nestled between Northern and Southern California is strategic, ensuring that it will serve as a vital link for drinks on the heavily trafficked route.

Interestingly, the new station won’t be situated too far away from Tesla’s existing Kettleman City Supercharger, which was once the largest in the world.

Last year, the world’s largest-ever EV charging station was opened in Germany, where there are 259 charging spots for electric cars.
