The Queen's custom Bentley is worth more than any Bugatti

Being a member of the royal family certainly has its perks.

As the head of the British royal family, Queen Elizabeth II needs a prestigious ride – so what better than a Bentley?

This quintessentially British motor was created to celebrate the Queen’s 50th anniversary as monarch.

The Queen’s Bentley is based on the Bentley Arnage, but it’s far from any other on the road.

It features an extended wheelbase which was necessary to create more room for passengers in the back.

It’s also wider than a production Arnage and, importantly, the roof is set higher, making it easier for Her Majesty to get out in ‘a suitably dignified manner’, as described by Bentley.

Mulliner worked alongside Bentley, creating a rear seat position that was modelled on the Queen’s exact height.

They also engineered the doors to open 90 degrees to make getting in and out easier.

The royal Bentley state limousine is used for public occasions which is why you will notice a ‘panoramic glasshouse’ which offers greater visibility from the outside.

It’s also fitted with a huge range of added safety features but these are kept confidential for obvious reasons.

But something that isn’t confidential is the vehicle’s price.

This one-off Mulliner Bentley is said to cost in the region of £10 million ($13.4 million).
