The B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber is an engineering marvel, and watching it land back on the ground safely is oddly satisfying.

Commonly known as the Stealth Bomber, the B-2 Spirit plays an essential role in the US Air Force.

Northrop Grumman, creator of the B-2 Spirit, has been manufacturing stealth technology for the US Air Force for thirty years, and they’ll likely work together into the future as well.

Many consider this stealth bomber to be the jewel in the crown of the American military aviation arsenal.

The US Air Force is ensuring that it has only the best available to those who serve in it, and it is reportedly investing $28 billion to develop next-gen fighter jets and unmanned drones.

“The B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber is one of the most survivable aircraft in the world. Its unique stealth characteristics allow it to penetrate the most sophisticated enemy defenses,” Northrop Grumman says.

So, what makes the B-2 Spirit special?

Despite being fitted with one of the most advanced warheads in the US Air Force arsenal, it maintains its stealth factor.

That’s probably why it takes off and lands so smoothly.

If you’re a military aircraft fanatic, watching it land will probably create a lovely moment of zen for you.

It’s fascinating to watch, too.

Obviously, you’re unlikely to see one in real life, though – that wouldn’t be the point of a stealth jet, would it?

You can’t tell that an advanced stealth bomber jet is there unless you’re already looking at the sky.

The B-2 Spirit lands in an iconic way because of its sheer structure.

It’s huge, but it’s sleek.

Moreover, the stealth bomber can perform various party tricks that surely never fail to impress everyone.

For instance, the B-2 Spirit can refuel mid-air.

Astonishing, right?

Powerful jets like these consume a lot of fuel, so they need to be refueled every six hours.

The range is impressive, though.

The B2 can travel over 11,000 kilometers – or 6,000 nautical miles – without stopping for gas.

Having the ability to refuel mid-flight is certainly advantageous.

After one refuel, it can even do over 18,500km – around 10,000 nautical miles – in no time.

That’s some capacity.

Among its other feats, the stealth bomber flies completely undetected by radar.

This is the world’s only long-range Stealth Bomber, which is why it’s currently the best.

Well, it’s the best that we know about, in any case.
