This man discovered a couple of abandoned Air Force jets in the middle of the Nevada desert that had been sitting untouched for 10 years.

Linking up with some local guides, the group headed to a remote site near Mesquite, Nevada.

This is where YouTuber HeavyDSparks and his team found two wrecked jets, including an F-15 and a T-38 Talon.

Both planes were shells of what they once were.

Air Force jets discovered in the Nevada desert

Arriving at Mesquite, HeavyDSparks and his team met up with a group of tour guides – Ammon, Seth, Kaden, and Rue.

This group had discovered the wrecks around 10 years ago from aerial spotting and hiking.

The locations weren’t all that accessible to the average person, as they were remote and very much off-road.

But what sort of condition would these planes be in when HeavyDSparks and his team got there?

Well, the F-15 was what they went to see first, and it was barely there.

Whilst the wing and most of the fuselage remained, there’d evidently been a fire at some point.

The guides said they believed some of the major components of the wreck had been removed by the Air Force.

This was quite the fall from grace for the F-15, which has ‘dominated the air’ for nearly half a century.

“[It’s] carved a reputation as the undefeated champion of dog fights,” HeavyDSparks said.

“It’s more than fighter jet. It’s a legend with wings.”

And here it was, looking like it’d been melted.

But how was the T-38 Talon holding up?

The T-38 Talon was in better condition

There was a lot more of the T-38 left, primarily due to the fact that there hadn’t been a fire.

Both engines were still there, and the airframe sections and panels were intact.

He put out a call to his subscribers to provide some additional information on both planes.

It’s always really cool to see planes like this, but it’s also a shame too.

It doesn’t feel right to see planes on the ground rotting, when their rightful place is in the skies.

But nonetheless, there’s historical value in finding these planes.

That was very much the case with this Amelia Earhart-era Lockheed Electra which had left in a swamp for years.

Speaking of Amelia Earhart, there was speculation that her very own plane might have been found on this uninhabited island.
