This abandoned Mercedes 190SL received its first wash in 60 years after it was left to rot in a basement.

The pale-colored exterior shell was in a bad way, with decades of grime built up, and the interior was all jumbled.

So, in a bid to make the iconic car drivable again, a team of detailers put their tools to work.

After lots of hard graft, the car underwent the ultimate rags to riches transformation.

This Mercedes 190SL received the ultimate transformation

When it comes to car transformations, this one may just jump to the top of our list.

This Mercedes was left to rot in a basement for decades and, as a result, was left in a terrible state.

But the car wasn’t just any Mercedes, it’s one of the rarest, with the 190SL being from 1955, the first production year, with a serial number of eight.

But fear not, as the guys over at WD Detailing had big plans to make the car shiny once again.

“This is the rarest car we’ve ever found, and it’s been sitting in a basement for 60 years,” explained the guys.

As you’d expect, the team had a fair bit of work to do, with the battery having seen better days thanks to corrosion.

So, they got to work giving the car a new lease of life by vacuuming the inside and pressure washing the car.

After the trunk was cleaned out, it was time for the tires to get spruced up, too.

ASMR lovers take note, as the car’s exterior washing may just be the most satisfying thing that we’ve ever seen.

A few exterior elements, such as trim pieces, were also washed up, and little by little, the car began to slowly look full of life again.

Once owner Elliot laid eyes on the shiny new version of the car, he simply couldn’t believe it.

“Looks like a whole different car, you got all that residue off and everything,” he said as the shutters revealed the rare Mercedes 190SL.

The car went on quite a journey, with the detailers admitting that Mercedes vehicles often clean up well in situations like this.

Mercedes-Benz is the oldest car manufacturer in the world

Mercedes-Benz has been paving the way in the car world since the 1800s, thanks to clever engineering and inventive designs, with many rare cars taking the car world by storm.

In fact, the rarest Mercedes in the world, the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé, had only two examples ever come to fruition, with one selling for a whopping €135 million in 2022

Plus, Mercedes also boasts the world’s coolest concept car, known as the AVTR, which is so futuristic that it isn’t driven using a steering wheel.
