Despite having become a powerhouse in car manufacturing, this abandoned supercar dealership in China houses rare Ferrari, Chevrolet, and Porsche models as a glimpse of the era’s past.

Nowadays, Chinese factories and dealerships are flux with state-of-the-art EVs.

But it’s only in the last decade that the homemade Chinese vehicles have begun rivaling those made in the West.

Now, European and American imports are being left to rot, just as this LA man found out on his trip to Dongguan, China.

Abandoned supercar dealership in China shows sad fate for Western imports

Every supercar that rolls off the assembly line is filled to the brim. Not just with gas, but with promise and expectation, hoping to make a new owner the happiest driver on the road.

But not every supercar gets out of the dealership doors, and often, some prime set of wheels gets left to rot when business goes bad.

Popular carspotter and YouTuber effspot has proven just that, as he turned up to an abandoned supercar dealership in Dongguan, China, and was aghast as he saw three iconic vehicles covered by layers of dust.

At the ‘undisclosed location’, the YouTuber walked up to the dealership and instantly recognized the Ferrari and Maserati badges that used to welcome new customers with open arms. Only now, the doors were sealed.

At the very front of the shop was a primed red Porsche Carrera GT with factory wheels and yellow brake callipers.

Seemingly ‘brand new’, the car has now been left to the elements as the red hood has faded to grey, being claimed by dust.

The Porsche Carrera GT was flanked by a rare, manual Ferrari 575 SuperAmerica and a stunning yellow Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

What happened to the dealership?

According to the popular car enthusiast, who recently found a range of abandoned supercars in Beverly Hills, there isn’t a ‘known’ reason that these vehicles are left unsold.

“It’s clearly an abandoned dealership… Our theory is the previous owner probably got into some sort of debt, couldn’t pay the rent, and the building owner seized it, but the paperwork is kind of like in limbo,” he said.

He claimed that the doors had been sealed closed for over 10 years, and that it’s unlikely they’ll ever be opened again.

Unfortunately, the Ferrari, Porsche, and Chevrolet supercars will likely never get to live up to their potential and fulfil the promise they were crafted with.
