America’s EV charging points have doubled in less than four years

The number of publicly available EV charging stations in the United States has doubled since early 2021.
It seems like an electric revolution is on the way and America is leading the charge.
At the time of writing, there are more than 211,000 public EV charging ports available in the US.
And the best part is that around 1,000 new ones are being added every week.

Over 200,000 EV charging stations in America
The government has also recently announced $521 million in funding to add more than 9,200 new chargers.
The Department of Energy has credited the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for aiding the buildout of charging stations across America.
This law has already provided $2.5 billion in funding for the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program.
Moreover, the US government has announced $521 million in grants to build more charging stations in 29 states.
Due to this, more than 9,200 charging ports will be added, with each one costing roughly $56,630.
This infrastructure upgrade along with new and fast-charging EV batteries will definitely lead to a bigger adoption of electric cars.
More EV projects
It seems like California will be receiving over $149 million to support five different projects.
One of these projects will include adding Level 2 chargers to all BART-managed parking facilities in the Bay Area.
Los Angeles will also be getting $15 million in funding to install 18 DC fast chargers and 1,263 Level 2 chargers.
Speaking of EV projects, Detroit has introduced a road that can charge an EV as they drive on it.
Now imagine a whole city with a road like this.
We might not be far away from an EV car-focused future with these advancements in technology and infrastructure.
In just a few years, the US has come a long way, and with this trajectory, it will not be long before most citizens switch to electric cars.
