What is American Icon: A Mustang Immersive Experience?

Ford launched the first Mustang at the 1964 New York World Fair, and it’s since become a cultural icon.

From its early first-generation K-code models right through to the ultra-modern 2025 Ford Mustang GT, the car has enchanted generations of car lovers.

So it’s really only right that such a beloved nameplate is celebrated, and that’s exactly what American Icon: A Mustang Immersive Experience is here to do.

The experience is designed to explore and celebrate the history of the car, and it’s been created by the same team behind Titanic: An Immersive Voyage and Jurassic World: The Experience.

There’s more to it than meets the eye, with multi-sensory environments and an adrenaline-pumping’ 4D ride-turned-cinematic experience.

Inside, you’ll learn all about the history of the Mustang and how it came into existence, as well as taking a deep dive into the nameplate’s enduring appeal and cultural significance.

There’s also a chance to get up close to a GTD, and see a selection of famous Mustangs from TV and film, including vehicles that appeared in Gone in 60 Seconds and Transformers.

“You won’t just see the blueprints; you’ll feel the nervous energy of the Dearborn design studio in 1963, a place humming with the hope of getting it right,” Ford said.

“You won’t just hear the sound of a V8; you’ll feel the rumble in your bones, the same vibration that has telegraphed freedom to generations. You will walk through the cultural moments that the Mustang didn’t just influence, but helped create.”

The ticket comes with an extra bonus

American Icon: A Mustang Immersive Experience is open in LA now until the end of January, afterwhich it’ll be heading to Miami and Dallas in 2026.

It’s then set to head to more cities the following year.

Tickets are on sale and will cost you $34, but they do come with a bit of a bonus.

Because if, after visiting, you’re so enamored with Ford that you want to buy one, your ticket will get you $500 off the purchase of a new Ford at LA dealerships before January 6.
