Forget the invention of an AI girlfriend or partner, a new artificial partner is in town, and it’s America’s banana-selling robot.

The invention was spotted in action at a grocery store, taking the place of a sales rep as the robot asked questions to shoppers as they went about their business.

This robot comes after clever technology has helped to advance the capabilities of robotic machinery in all walks of life

But, there was a strange twist lurking within the tropical fruit robot’s exterior, and if you blink, you’ll miss it.

America’s invention of a banana-selling robot could change your life

Robotic technology is advancing rapidly all over the world and may soon be able to tackle mundane everyday tasks that we don’t want to take on ourselves.

Now, we’ve all heard of the invention of AI partners, but in the US, something better is in action – a banana-selling robot.

The clever piece of machinery was spotted in action by one TikTok content creator, robynlarz, who was taken by surprise as she went to pick up food supplies.

“I wasn’t expecting the creepy banana robot,” she captioned the video.

The bizarre creation made its way around the store, but with a strange surprise displayed across its front.

Despite clearly having bananas visible on its shelves, the robot displayed the word ‘avocados’.

“Hey you, yes you, Craving something fresh?” the robot said as it weaved in between confused shoppers in the grocery store.

You have to admit, though, it does capture the attention of everyone in its path – so it’s a job well done on that front.

The unusual robot confused tech fans online

After the footage of the banana-selling robot was unleashed, people simply couldn’t get their heads around it.

“Why does it say AVOCADOS??!” questioned one user.

“It’s real? With the creepy music and all too!?” asked another.

“Where are y’all?! I wanna come over,” joked a third.

However, this isn’t the first time that we’ve seen robots take over normal tasks.

For example, one US humanoid robot left people shocked with how well it does the laundry.

What task will robots take on next? We have artificial laundry folders and sales reps, so only time will tell what will be invented next.

For now, though, you can take a look at the robot in action below.
