The American muscle car remains among the coolest cars that money can buy.

They are most often associated with the grunt and aggression of the V8 engine.

Well, it turns out that you can buy a muscle car that can out-perform a Ferrari.

Oh – and it costs less than a used Toyota Corolla.

This muscle car has raw, red-blooded power

Allow us to introduce to you the Chrysler 300 SRT8.

Specifically, this is the second generation Chrysler 300, made from 2011 to 2014.

This might look similar to the standard sedan – but trust us, it is anything but.

Underneath the hood lies a 470bhp behemoth of a Detroit engine.

The second generation Chrysler 300 SRT8 is powered by a 6.4 liter Hemi V8.

The numbers on the track are equally as impressive as the numbers under the hood.

This monstrous engine helps the muscle car to a 0-60 time of just 4.3 seconds.

It also is good for a quarter mile time of just 12.6 seconds – far from shabby for a luxury sedan.

Power and performance for a bargain

In case you’re sat there wondering how much this performance costs – well, not as much as you think.

The majority of 300 SRT8 cars sell right around, and even under, the $20,000 mark.

Truly pristine examples, even at that, will only set you back around $30,000.

And for that relatively bargain basement money, you get supercar-smashing performance.

There are a range of slightly older cars, including a V12 Ferrari, that can’t handle this $20,000 sedan.

What makes this car even better value for money is that the engine does not need modification.

Most engines are tuned and developed to produce more grunt and output.

But trust us – this 6.4 liter Hemi V8 needs no modification or improvement.

So, if you happen to be in the market for a luxury muscle car that has incredible power and performance, then look no further.

Because the second generation Chrysler 300 SRT8 could very well be the car for you.
