What more could we ask for with the amalgamation of Apple’s most advanced in-car software, the CarPlay Ultra, and top-of-the-line Aston Martin vehicles?
The software was launched today, and it will be available for Aston Martin vehicles in the US and Canada.
Apple’s next-generation infotainment system takes over all driver screens and can be updated in the coming weeks.
Apple described this joint effort as ‘the best of iPhone and the best of the car’. Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis will have the technology soon, too.

The biggest change is in the instrument cluster, where Apple has never been before.
Tech aficionados will now have a world of possibilities with the new CarPlay Ultra, allowing them to change the layout of the entire dashboard.
Crucial data like the car’s speedometer, navigation, media, or advanced vehicle data will be available to the driver in real time.
Without needing to open an app, users will also have access to weather, trip data, and media playback through the widgets in the car’s cluster or central screen.

All these features are still available with physical buttons and voice commands through Siri.
Aston Martin is renowned for its ultra-luxurious British design, incorporating exquisite features. This will remain while integrating Apple’s cutting-edge technology.
The tech company says the design of each car brand is done with the automaker’s design team, ‘resulting in experiences that feel tailor-made for each vehicle’.
“With CarPlay Ultra, together with automakers, we are reimagining the in-car experience… making it even more unified and consistent,” Apple’s VP of Worldwide Product Marketing Bob Borchers said.

Currently, CarPlay Ultra is available only in select Aston Martin models.
Older compatible models can be updated at the nearest dealership in the coming weeks.
Apple says brands like Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis will join soon, but car owners will need an iPhone 12 or higher, running iOS 18.5 or later, to make it work.
