Charging hardware is extremely important
When it comes to charging your iPhone, it turns out that there is a right way to do it.
Have you ever noticed that the battery on your phone doesn’t charge as well after a couple of years?
Trust us – we’ve been there ourselves.
It turns out that there are a couple of reasons for that.
One reason can actually be due to the hardware you use for charging.

Apple users should only be using official, licensed products to charge an iPhone.
Cheaper ‘knock-off’ versions can even be a safety risk and lead to fires.
“You can also charge an iPhone with ‘Made for iPhone’ or other third-party cables and power adapters that are compliant with USB 2.0 or later and with applicable country regulations and international and regional safety standards,” Apple said.
“Other adapters may not meet applicable safety standards, and charging with such adapters could pose a risk of death or injury.”
Why the 95 rule is so important for your iPhone
But charging apparatus isn’t the topic of discussion today.
Instead, it’s the actual level of charging itself.
So what is this 95 rule that we’re talking about?
It turns out that you actually shouldn’t be charging your iPhone to 100 percent.
In fairness, it could set your OCD off – but it will save your battery.
A fully charged phone is more prone to experiencing stress, which in turn has a big effect on its health.
This can lead to the battery degrading much faster.
So charging to 95 percent is one way you could stretch your iPhone’s lifespan.

Thankfully, Apple has now introduced optimized battery charging.
This is designed to reduce the wear on your device’s battery and thus improve its lifespan.
In turn, this reduces the amount of time your device spends being fully charged.
So take note – charging your iPhone to 100 percent can actually hurt more than you think.
