This barn find 1961 Chevrolet Impala is looking for a new home – and a major restoration – after being crushed by a roof.
Chevrolet launched its flagship Impala back in 1958 with an original production run that lasted until 1985.
The nameplate was revived a couple of times, most recently between 2000 and 2020.
This 1961 Chevy Impala you see here has clearly seen better days, but its owner is holding out hope it could find a savior online.

The 1961 Chevrolet Impala is on the hunt for a new owner
Due to their popularity, you still see plenty of vintage Chevrolet Impalas today.
Some are still in great shape, like this 1958 model that used to belong to the owner of Wendy’s; others haven’t fared so well, like this heavily-rusted example spotted in a junkyard.

And this barn find 1961 Chevrolet Impala, which was recently listed on eBay, fits firmly into the latter category.
The listing doesn’t share too many details, other than its make, model, year, and the fact that it was a barn find.
However, what’s clear from the photos is that the poor old Impala has had a rough time.
The car is trapped under a collapsed roof, which looks as though it caved in when a tree landed on it.
The Impala is still in situ, under the fallen roof and tree, which means we can probably safely assume it’s not road-ready…
The rear of the car appears to have held up better than the front, but its taillights have gone, which could be a sign it’s been used for parts, and might point to other bits and pieces being missing.

The car would be a pretty mammoth project for someone to get stuck into, but it’s not like we haven’t seen that before.
How much is the car listed for?
The owner has listed the car for $1,444 and has offered free local pickup.
At the time of writing, no one had been tempted by the Impala, but there is still around six days to go until the auction ends.
Of course, anyone who was interested would be wise to take a trip out to see the car and give it a good once-over before parting with their cash.
