One of America’s lowest-mile Camaro ZL1 units pulls a $58k bid yet the dealer won’t let go of the keys

The Camaro ZL1 remains a much-loved and appreciated muscle car.

It remains so beloved, in fact, that owners are proving hesitant to hand over the keys.

A pristine, 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was recently the subject of a $58k bid.

But it wasn’t enough to convince the dealer to sell the car.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 came to the end of its production life in the final months of 2024.

As part of the overall demise of the Camaro, the ZL1 version would sadly follow suit.

A practically brand-new, 2017 Camaro ZL1 was recently listed for sale via Cars & Bids in America.

Its famous 6.2-liter V8 powerplant produces 650bhp as well as 650lb-ft of torque.

And the best part of this Camaro? It has just 448 original miles on the clock.

Yes, you read that right – this 2017 Camaro ZL1 has driven just 448 miles in eight years.

This makes this Jet Black Camaro ZL1 one of the lowest-mileage examples in the entire country.

Naturally, a discontinued car in such condition attracted quite a lot of auction interest.

Upon release in 2017, the original MSRP for this Camaro ZL1 was $69,195.

By the time the auction ended, this ZL1 ended up with a final bid of…$58,000.

What makes this story even more fascinating is that the bid apparently wasn’t enough.

The bid of almost $60,000 wasn’t enough to convince the dealer to hand over the keys.

Of course, given the condition and performance package, there is every chance that the car’s value could increase.

This, of course, is a big gamble – the 2017 Camaro ZL1 wasn’t a particularly rare or limited car.

It’s a decision that’s caused a bit of debate within the car community.

One side would argue that such a pristine example of a discontinued car warrants more money.

The flip side of the coin, of course, is that it is an eight year-old car that isn’t overly rare.
