The late Queen Elizabeth’s personal Range Rover recently sold for more than double its estimate after being snapped up at auction in the United Kingdom.

The 2006 Range Rover V8 was used by the late monarch between 2006 and 2008.

It recently went under the hammer during the Silverstone Festival 2025.

The car had been expected to sell for between £50,000 and £70,000 – around $67,680 to $94,750 – but ended up going for a whole lot more.

How much did Queen Elizabeth’s personal Range Rover sell for?

The Royal Family has an impressive fleet, including a custom Bentley and Rolls-Royce.

But when it came to daily driving, it seems that the late Queen was particularly fond of Range Rovers, and reportedly enjoyed ditching security and taking them off-road

Between 2006 and 2008, Her Majesty drove a Range Rover V8 that came with a supercharged 4.2-liter Jaguar-derived V8 engine.

As you might expect from a car with such a prestigious former owner, the Range Rover is in great condition and has just under 120,000 miles on the clock.

Queen Elizabeth’s personal Range Rover also had a handful of modifications to make it suitable for a monarch, including internal wiring for security and communication, special handles to help the Queen get in and out, and even a dog guard for Her Majesty’s beloved corgis.

It was recently put up for auction at Silverstone Festival by Iconic Auctioneers.

The auction house estimated that the car could sell for up to $94,750.

“Vehicles with such distinguished provenance rarely enter the market, making this an exceptional opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike,” a spokesperson from Iconic Auctioneers said ahead of the sale.

“Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s personal Range Rover combines automotive excellence with an unmatched historical significance.”

And on the day, it seems that ‘unmatched historical significance’ was able to seriously bolster its value.

The car ended up going for £175,000, about USD $237,000, which was more than double the higher end of its estimate.

King Charles recently added an EV to the royal fleet

As you might expect, the British Royal Family has an impressive fleet.

Over the years, there have been several Range Rovers, a couple of custom Bentleys, and more.

More recently, King Charles reportedly added a $215,000 Lotus Eletre to his impressive array of cars.

The King is known for championing environmental causes, so making the switch to an EV makes sense.

According to reports, the King opted for a 900 model, which is powered by a 900 horsepower electric motor and can do 319 miles of range.
