This beautiful 2006 Ford GT barn find that spent at least a decade off the road in Georgia roared back into life after being rescued.

The stunning supercar had been parked for between 10 and 15 years, meaning it had likely spent half of its life in storage.

The car was in pretty solid condition, although it did have a severe mold problem.

Thankfully, the Ford GT was given some much-needed TLC and a second lease of life after acquiring a new owner.

The Ford GT spent more than a decade parked

The story unfolded after Ed Bolian – from the VINWiki YouTube channel – received a call from his pal and fellow car-lover Mathew Ivanhoe, who was flying into Georgia to take a look at a 2006 Ford GT.

Bolian is no stranger to supercars.

He’s previously bought himself a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport that used to belong to Justin Bieber, and once bought, sold, and re-bought a stunning Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder.

So Bolian was more than happy to go along with car collector Ivanhoe to check out the Ford GT.

The car had to be carefully removed from the garage, where the previous owner had piled it up with junk and rubbish.

Although the car was in good shape structurally, it was covered in dirt and grime, while the insides had a serious mold problem.

So much so that the duo wore protective suits with respirators to give the vehicle its first clean in a decade.

They later took it to an auto shop to ‘figure out what was wrong with it’, but were given the good news that ‘nothing major’ needed to be done to the Ford GT.

With the car fixed up and cleaned up it was ready to hit the road – and that engine sounded as good as new.

Meanwhile, Bolian had some words for fellow Ford GT owners who opted to keep their cars parked.

“I know why people have these cars, and I know why the guys that have them tend to keep them,” he said.

“I don’t know why people leave them with delivery miles and don’t ever use them, because that’s really what makes the car cool, is the fact that you can mile it up and everything still just kind of works.

“If you have a Ford GT, start driving it.”

Solid advice.
