Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH and briefly the world’s richest man, has reportedly commissioned a giant superyacht that will dwarf even Jeff Bezos’ Koru.
For now, this is just a rumor, but we can safely say that he’s got enough money to do it.
If confirmed, Arnault’s new yacht would be around 50-60 feet longer than Koru.
And the price will shock you.
Bernard Arnault was briefly the world’s richest man
A couple of years ago, Arnault became the world’s richest person after briefly surpassing Elon Musk.
But fashion is probably not as fancy, ironically, as tech, and certainly not as profitable, which explains why he’s now ‘only’ the ninth-richest man.
Not only that, at the time of writing, Arnault is the only man in the top 10 list who owes his fortune to something that isn’t tech.
Still, with a net worth of around $153 billion, Arnault is reportedly looking to replace Simphony, the yacht he currently owns, with something else.

If rumors are to be believed, his next ship will also be built by Feadship, but it’ll be a lot bigger.
As reported by Unico Yachting, Bernard Arnold is now waiting on a $650M megayacht that will be built in the company’s yard in the Netherlands.
The yacht would be significantly larger than Koru.
Jeff Bezos yacht is 417 feet (127 meters) long, while Arnault’s new yacht would be around 460 feet – equivalent to around 140 meters.
That’s about the size of one and a half football fields.
This would be the world’s largest and most expensive superyacht
More to the point, at $650 billion, Arnault’s would also become the world’s most expensive yacht, and the largest.
Both titles belong to Azzam, owned by the Abu Dhabi royal family.
At this point, we should probably take a moment to debunk a myth about the world’s largest yacht.
For years, History Supreme was described as the world’s most expensive yacht.

There were articles and videos discussing it, often citing an unnamed Malaysian billionaire as the owner.
But the yacht never existed.
Unlike Arnault’s Symphony, which exists, and the new yacht, which might.
We actually contacted Feadship to see if they could give us any juicy comments on that front, and the answer is both yes and no.
We did contact Feadship, but they declined to comment, citing confidentiality.
But there’s a silver lining.
They did promise to keep us posted with any updates the second ‘official news’ is released.
So stay tuned for that.
