After rotting in an abandoned house for 14 years, this classic BMW E30 was rescued and given an ASMR-inducing clean down by a group of detailing experts.
Sadly, instead of going to the scrapyard, some cars sit idle in garages, waiting for time and Mother Nature to take their course.
But they’re hardly biodegradable, and for some cars, despite the rot setting in, they can be rescued with the right amount of care.
That was the case for this BMW E30, which was miraculously dragged out from what appeared to be its final resting place – and it scrubbed up pretty well.

This BMW E30 spent 14 years rotting in a decaying garage
Some of the more classic BMW cars are real fan-favorites in America, as they’re often rarer than Ford and Chevy models but equally impressive on the road.
So decades later, they seem to be cropping up as perfect restoration jobs.
Experts WD Detailing have done a number of revivals like this, but after finding a BMW E30 that had been left in a damp garage for a decade and a half, this was one of their biggest jobs ever.
The once-cherry-red BMW E30 was found in an abandoned Pennsylvania house, and there was a good reason why it hadn’t been moved for so long.

When trying to rescue the car, the crumbling chassis proved difficult to maneuver, while the building structure was also crumbling.
The rear arm was too corroded and failed when tried to be towed, and when it was attached by the front tow hooks, the rear axle collapsed on the trailer.
But, somehow, they pulled it out (almost) in one piece.
“I would say that is probably the top three worst recoveries we’ve ever done for sure,” one of the experts from WD Detailing said.
But now that it was free, it was time for a makeover.
Experts restore this classic German beauty
Back in their shop, the BMW E30 was given WD Detailing’s signature clean-up.
Covered in layers of dust, rubble, and mold, the car took waves of washing and hoovering to get clean before the team rolled out the buffers and wax, adding a nice shine to its exterior.
Unfortunately, some parts of the bodywork weren’t salvageable and would need repainting to really look their best.

And then there’s the functionality of the car.
While it now looks spectacular, it’s almost like slapping a toupée onto a bald head – there are issues beneath that need a lot of care and attention.
But when it looks like that, someone very well might fancy their hand at the mechanics of it all.
