With holiday-goers dreaming of better weather than that in London, a Virgin Atlantic Boeing 777 and an Emirates Airbus A380 worked in tandem to make those dreams a punctual reality by sharing the Gatwick Airport runway less than a minute apart.
Not only do planes have a huge weight to bear on the safety side of things, with hundreds of passengers aboard, but they also have a duty to work like clockwork to keep airports ticking over.
In the height of summer, especially, flights are incredibly frequent, and pilots work incredibly hard to get in the skies as quickly as possible to allow for the next plane to land.
In this instance, seen in the video above, a Boeing 777 set off to North America with its excited passengers, and seconds later, an Airbus A380 touched down from Dubai, showing how efficient airports really are.
