A Boeing pilot has shared the hardest part of flight training, while also stating that it is the one part that nobody talks about.

Becoming a pilot is not the work of a moment, and it can take many, many flying hours and months of training to become the pilot of an airliner or cargo aircraft.

Pilot Simin, who goes by Captain Croft on YouTube, shared her aviation knowledge on her channel, as well as talking about the toughest part of training.

And believe it or not, it’s not the actual flying of the aircraft.

Theory is the hardest part of flight training

Simin states that the theory side of things is something that you’re not warned about before flying school.

While flying the aircraft well is, of course, important, there is also a need to know various other things.

Systems, procedures, safety measures, regulations, and a lot more all make up flight training.

The volume of information you have to learn from day one is a lot, she explained.

This begins when you are a student pilot and carries on to your very first airline job, and continues as you move through your type certification, too.

This is when you progress from flying one aircraft to another.

For example, if you go from a small Boeing 737 to the giant Boeing 747.

How the Boeing pilot says to push through the flight training

Simin said in her video that it isn’t actually the depth and technicality of the information that’s the hardest bit.

It’s more about the amount you have to learn in the timeframe given.

Plus, there is also the need to retain it all.

Every piece of information learned will be hugely beneficial in a pilot’s career.

The Boeing pilot said a few things can help retain the information.

Showing resilience and finding new ways to keep learning all help to progress through flight training.

After flight training, the ability to fly a commercial airliner is one hell of a reward.

It certainly sounded like a tough path, according to Simin’s video.

But equally, it sounds like all of the effort is more than worth it come the end of training.
