German tuning house Brabus is back with another insane creation, this time turning its attention to the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600.

Officially dubbed the Brabus 900, that number should give away the biggest clue about this super SUV – power has been turned all the way up to 900hp. Ooft.

Powered by an enlarged 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 and backed by a nine-speed automatic, it’ll rocket from 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds – not shabby for an SUV tipping the scales at nearly three tonnes.

Being based on a Maybach model, though, Brabus has ensured that the GLS retains the luxury and comfort buyers would expect.

There’s no greater sign of this than in the rear, where there are individual captains’ seats with heating and ventilation, memory, and multi-contour functions – plus a pair of cushions for maximum comfort.

An array of screens also features in the rear, including a control tablet between the two individual seats.

The ‘Bi-Colour Materpiece’ interior certainly looks the part as well, with white and black leather featuring perforation and ornate stitching both front and rear.

Outside, the Brabus 900’s gargantuan 24-inch Monoblock wheels make it actually look more like a Maybach than the Maybach it’s based on. An array of dark chrome and carbon fibre trim also features.

Even the engine cover is an ornate design, featuring a red carbon fiber weave.

Brabus is currently accepting orders for the hotted-up GLS through its website, although no price has been announced.

Expect it to cost a significant amount more than the base Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, though, which retails from $160,500.
