This flashy American RV has a 450-mile range, but that’s not the only element that’s leaving people wanting more.

Thor Industries unveiled the motorhome masterpiece, which is set to change travelers’ lives for the better, thanks to clever safety features and even fast charging.

The initial prototype previously saw the light of day in 2024, but now it’s back and better than ever in a world-first that is set to be built on a Harbinger chassis.

Plus, the clever RV even acts as a system that can help on the darkest of days.

This American RV and its range will leave you dreaming of road trips

Thor Industries has unveiled a brand new EV with an impressive amount of range to take every trip to a whole new level.

The Embark American EV was initially unveiled as a prototype in 2024 and turned heads thanks to the design and powertrain.

But now, a year after it was first unveiled, Thor has revealed even more interesting details about the vehicle.

Holding the impressive title of the world’s first range-extended electric Class A motorhome, it was manufactured by Entegra Coach.

The creation combines a low-emission gasoline range extender that provides a whopping 450 miles of range and 105 miles just on the electric battery, perfect for trips over a variety of different distances.

The extra range is all down to the 140-kWh battery, with the drivetrain coming in quick with smart instant torque and a backup camera, tire pressure monitoring in real time, and even ‘rear ultrasonic collision warnings’.

Owners can rapidly charge their vehicles at DC Fast Charger locations, plus they can even charge the battery while camping, too.

“This first-of-its-kind electric Class A motorhome reinforces THOR’s innovation leadership,” THOR Industries President and CEO Bob Martin said.

But, the best bit?

The handy electric American RV motorhome can even act as a ‘mobile backup system’ that has the capability to power your own home if an emergency were to happen. So life off-grid, as such, has never really been easier.

“The Embark will go through extensive consumer testing through the rental market prior to production next summer.

“We want to be sure that it offers everything a customer expects from an Entegra Coach motorhome,” Jayco Family of Companies President and CEO Ken Walters said.

Across the country, RVs are becoming increasingly popular

The huge, sprawling vehicles are often a favoured choice among gearheads thanks to endless possibilities on board with state-of-the-art facilities.

The space allows car fans to travel in style and comfort while covering large distances.

In fact, one man who converted Elvis Presley’s abandoned jet into an RV, took it on the highway, and the chaos left him very confused.

Plus, celebrities, including Mariah Carey, are fans of the luxury homes on wheels too – the star’s $1.8M motorhome is a skyscraper on wheels with three levels over two storeys.

For now, though, the Embark is reportedly available in commercial sectors with full production commencing in 2026.
