A double-decker bus converted into a mobile home might be a better option than some apartments in New York City (NYC).
A couple from Hereford in the UK has chosen the double-decker as their mobile home, converting it into a fully fitted living space that they can move if they want to.
The couple has worked hard to turn the bus into their new home, and they recently showcased all of their work for the YouTube channel Alternative House.
It is a very interesting creation and shows how a home doesn’t have to be fixed to one spot.

How was the double-decker bus converted?
The couple behind the conversation, Lamorna and Gareth (G), found the bus on eBay.
It is a 1997 Scania double-decker that was built in Brighton and Hove and used as a school bus in Sheffield.
The bus had actually cropped up on eBay, and they bought it for just £4,000 ($5,400) in 2020.
The changes they made to the bus were comprehensive.

At the top, there is a rooftop garden, perfect for relaxing on those warm summer days.
Outside, the bus carries the same livery it had in service, but there are other changes.
The original doors are replaced with airtight patio doors.
There is a large awning on the side, an outdoor shower, and even a gas inlet for a grill.
The bus is now a full-on home on wheels
Inside, there is a huge kitchen, with a cozy dining room that has a table that hangs from the ceiling.
A wood-burning stove adds to the ‘homely’ vibe, as does the wood trim.
The YouTuber reveals that the bathroom sits around the wheel wells, and there is a shower, sink, and toilet.
Upstairs is a common area with a sofa and chairs, and a full entertainment center with a hidden TV.
The bedroom is hidden behind a bookshelf that doubles up as a door.
This keeps the room nice and private and allows it to feel like an ordinary bedroom.
The rooftop terrace is the icing on the cake for this build, capping off the homely feel.
This truly is a very impressive double-decker conversion.
