This British guy accidentally met the owner of Ferrari whilst admiring his $30,000,000 superyacht – and he didn’t even realize at first.
Theo Maxwell, the host of the Mindset Matters podcast, was on vacation in Santa Margarita in Italy when he encountered Piero Ferrari.
He was on his way to admire Ferrari’s superyacht, the Riva Race.
But he didn’t realize he was speaking to one of the co-owners of Ferrari until much later.

Speaking on his podcast, Maxwell recalled his chance encounter with the owner of Ferrari.
Maxwell was on vacation with his girlfriend when he saw a superyacht pulling into the harbour.
As they walked down to get a closer look, they came across an older Italian man carrying two dogs.

“My [girlfriend] fusses over the dogs and I’m chatting to him, he’s like this old Italian dude,” Maxwell recalled.
“I was just like a classic Manc [Mancunian] abroad, like ‘Alright lad, where’s good to go out here?'”
When he got down to the yacht, he took some pictures and looked up the boat.
It turned out to be the Riva Race, a $30,000,000 superyacht owned by none other than Piero Ferrari.
That being the second son of Enzo Ferrari, and 10.48 percent owner in Ferrari, of which he is the vice chairman.
“I look up and the old man with the two dogs just walks onto the boat,” Maxwell recalled.

“And I realized that was him – I’d met the owner of Ferrari in Italy, and I asked him where was good to go for a pint!”
How many people can say they’ve done that?

The Riva Race was launched back in 2019, being heralded as the biggest build from the Italian shipyard at the time.
This 50m long vessel can accommodate up to 12 guests across six cabins, with room for a nine men strong crew across five cabins.
Whilst there’s no doubt that this boat is luxurious, there’s also a ‘racing’ flavor onboard.

The helm contains a steering wheel crafted from a single piece of titanium, and the seat is a driver’s seat taken from a Ferrari California, autoevolution reported.
Alas, the ship did end up parting ways with its owner back in 2024.
Not that the 80-year-old billionaire is turning away from all things flashy, as this $2.2 million Daytona SP3 demonstrates.
But there’s just something about a superyacht that exemplifies luxury lifestyle, isn’t there?
