Three brothers built their own homemade Cybertruck in just two days, but things didn’t quite go to plan when they attempted to take it off-road.

Tesla introduced its EV pickup truck back in 2019, with first deliveries rolling out in 2023.

However, while the original may have taken a little longer than anticipated to get out to customers – this DIY Cybertruck took its creators just two days.

But when the time came to take it off-roading, how did it fare against the real deal?

The DIY Cybertruck was made in a couple of days

Almost as soon as the Tesla Cybertruck was released, we saw several creative car lovers attempt to create their own, such as this wooden version and this teeny tiny example.

The Peck Brothers also had a go at making their own Cybertruck and – fair play to them – it looked pretty cool.

The ‘Cybertruck’ began life as a 1998 Jeep Cherokee that was picked up for cheap with plans to transform it into an off-roading vehicle.

The trio of brothers decided to strip away most of its bodywork, spray it red, and fit it with a Cybertruck-like angular roll cage.

The entire process only took two days and by the end of it, they were left with a Cybertruck-Jeep Cherokee mash-up that was about as unique and unusual a vehicle as you’ll ever find.

With the hard work done, the time came to take the homemade vehicle off-roading – as they attempted to find out if it would perform like the real thing.

How did the homemade vehicle handle off-roading?

The Peck Brothers created their homemade Cybertruck to compete in an off-roading competition.

So, naturally, they needed to check out its off-roading capabilities – but it almost immediately hit a problem and the trio managed to roll the vehicle not once, but twice. Ouch.

Undeterred, the brothers carried on with the competition and – somewhat miraculously – managed to climb up some pretty steep slopes and hills.

But after a decent run, ‘the inevitable happened’ and the truck not only rolled but also broke.

Thinking on their feet, the brothers were able to carry out some quick repairs on the vehicle and get it back up and running. Incredible stuff.

Even more incredibly, they even went on to win the competition.
