Like who would win in a fight between a lion and a bear, seeing a Bugatti Chiron supercar go up against a Red Bull F1 car is a battle we all want to see the outcome of – and it’s the fastest drag race you’ve ever seen.
The stats on both these cars are beyond belief.
The Bugatti Chiron pumps out an astronomical 1,500HP, whereas the F1 car can out down 750HP – but weight, aerodynamics, and other factors mean the race is anyone’s to win.
Who’s going to make it over the line first?

Bugatti Chiron vs 2011 Red Bull RB7 F1 car
First up, the Bugatti Chiron is powered by an 8-liter quad-turbo W16, which pumps out a whopping 1,500HP & 1,600Nm of torque.
The downside? It’s pretty heavy, weighing in at 1,995kg with Supercar Blondie herself, Alex Hirschi preferring the Bugatti Tourbillon.
The 2011 Red Bull RB7 F1 car, meanwhile, is a world championship winner.

It’s powered by a 2.4-liter naturally-aspirated V8, that packs 750HP.
Sounds diminutive, but not when you take its lightweight 650kg carbon fiber body, and aerodynamics into consideration.
“This is completely nuts!,” host Matt Weston of carwow said.
Who will be fastest in the drag race?
Despite the Bugatti supercar’s power, the F1 car’s launch control and aerodynamics helped it dominate from the start – having former F1 star David Coulthard behind the wheel didn’t hurt either.
The RB7 won the standing quarter-mile in 9.2 seconds, while the Chiron finished in 9.6 seconds.
Starting from 50mph in the rolling race, the Chiron initially lagged but was nippy enough to catch up and win at higher speeds due to its immense power and reduced drag at high speeds.
Last but not least, the braking test from 100mph, saw the RB7 easily dominate and outbrake the Chiron, in no small part thanks to its lightweight build and superior braking system.
The final results were simple: while the Chiron is a powerhouse at high speeds, the F1 car excels in acceleration, handling, and braking.
“I think we should race a jet next!” host Weston said.

All Supercar Blondie contributors undergo editorial review and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and authority in automotive journalism. After gaining her BA Hons in French and English at the University of Nottingham, Amelia embarked on a vocational diploma from the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). This led to numerous opportunities, from interning at Vogue to being on the small team that launched Women’s Health magazine in the UK, which was named the PPA Consumer magazine of the year for three years running. As Health, Beauty and Fitness editor, Amelia personally received a Johnson & Johnson Award and was shortlisted for both PPA and BSME titles. Since then, Amelia has created content for numerous titles and brands, including the Telegraph, 111 Skin, Waitrose, Red magazine, Stylist, and Elle, as well as being Head of Content at Vitality and Editor in Chief at INLondon magazine. “My superpower is translating technical jargon about the mechanical workings of a supercar into a relatable story you’ll want to share with your friends after you’ve read it.” After joining the SB Media family as a senior journalist in September of 2023, Amelia’s role has evolved to see her heading up the SEO output of the editorial team. From researching the most ‘Google-able’ key terms to producing evergreen content - it’s been a time of hard work, growth, and success for the editorial team and the Supercar Blondie website. “I like to think of myself as a ‘method journalist’. In other words: I live and breathe whatever I am writing about. When writing about fitness, I trained as a personal trainer, and as a beauty editor, I completed an ‘expert’ in scent diploma with the Fragrance Foundation. “During my tenure at Supercar Blondie, however, I did something I never thought possible: I passed my driving test at the age of 36. One day I’d love to train as a mechanic to better understand what happens under the hood, too. “My sweet spot is providing readers with a ‘takeaway’ (read: something new they didn’t know before) after reading every one of my stories. While I don’t claim to be an expert in the automotive world, I know the experts and bodies in the field to rely on to provide our readers with an informative and thought-provoking story every time they visit the site.”
