A C8 Corvette and an Audi RS 6 Avant met for a drag race in the ultimate showdown.
On one side we had a luxury sports car in red, and on the other side, we had a luxury station wagon in gray.
Both cars brought their V8 power to the famous Las Vegas Motor Speedway, as spectators lined the track to see who would win the speed battle.
The Corvette packed a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8, pumping out 495 horsepower, while the Audi flexed its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with an impressive 621 horsepower.

The Audi also had a quattro all-wheel-drive system, which promised excellent grip, even on a tricky launch.
The drag race was covered on YouTube by Wheels Plus.
We have seen the C8 Corvette giving an outstanding performance in drag races before, as seen when pitted against a Ford Mustang GT.
And with this race against a luxury sedan, the Corvette was easily expected to win the drag race.
The race was simple, with none of the drivers performing the tire-warming burnout, and the set-up was simple, skipping the usual amber lights before the green signal.
The result was unexpected
As the race began, the Audi RS 6 Avant took an early lead while the C8 Corvette was slow off the line.
The Corvette tried to catch up, but the missed launch held it back.
The heavier Audi, despite its weight, maintained the lead throughout the race.
In the end, the Audi clocked an impressive 12.62 seconds over the quarter-mile, beating the Corvette’s 12.91 seconds.
Corvettes are built for speed, as seen in a race against a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
But let’s just say, it was not the Corvette’s day.
It was a lesson that power isn’t everything – timing and traction matter too.
