This is the new Cadillac Elevated Velocity, an all-electric concept with huge gullwing doors and a magnificent crystal display.

What’s really surprising is the sport that inspired this amazing concept.

Somehow, the automaker used desert polo as an inspiration for this vehicle, and we’re certainly glad they did because it looks tremendous.

But there’s a question everyone’s asking.

Cadillac may have accidentally created one of the world’s largest gullwing doors

Elevated Velocity is, in a way, a ‘sequel’ to another amazing concept called Opulent Velocity.

Visually, there’s a lot to unpack.

The first thing that stands out is the massive ‘mono’ gullwing door on the side.

Cadillac Elevated Velocity has four seats, but only one door per side.

And it’s a gullwing door, which is a feature that car people tend to love.

The second thing that stands out about this all-electric concept is the desert polo kit in the trunk.

For whatever reason, Cadillac picked this relatively niche sport and used it as an inspiration.

The concept, par for the course, is electric.

The question everyone is asking

Cadillac, like so many other legacy automakers, is using the electric transition as a great opportunity to rebrand.

Obviously, there’s the electric Escalade – that one looks like any other Escalade – but then you have the Liriq and Celestiq, which explore totally new design languages.

New tax brackets as well, by the way, because the Celestiq costs around $340,000.

So the question everyone is asking is: Will Cadillac actually put the Elevated Velocity into production?

We don’t know yet, but what we do know is that, even if they did, so many of these design quirks will have to go.

It’d be great to launch a four-seat SUV with a massive mono gullwing door, but with the best will in the world, it wouldn’t be very practical.
