Meet Conner, the Californian car YouTuber burning gas and cash to chase his best life.
His Honda S2000 might be a wallet-drainer, but to him it’s pure happiness on four wheels.
While a lot of YouTubers are counting clicks and cash, Conner is counting miles and smiles.
And honestly? He wouldn’t trade it for anything.
The California car Youtuber who’s chasing passion, not profit
Conner’s channel, mellow_conner, is pure car-guy escapism – just him, his Honda S2000, and California’s best backroads.
Right now, it makes him exactly zero dollars. In fact, most weeks he’s about $50 in the red, all thanks to California’s brutal premium gas prices.
He’s already got the subscribers, but the watch hours just aren’t there, so monetization is still out of reach.
A few sponsors have even slid into his inbox, but he’s passed. Right now, he says, it’s all about getting the videos right first – quality now, money later.

That mindset is why his viewers love him. The uploads feel like riding shotgun: no fluff, no drama, just the road and the revs.
The comments are full of people cheering him on, sharing their own car dreams, and dropping tips to help the channel grow.
And the S2000 has already seen some big adventures, too – like the time he and a friend took it and a Porsche 911 on a 1000mi California road trip, camping on the coast and carving through redwood canyons.
To Conner, that’s everything. He says he’s fine ‘going far in the negative’ if it means he’s building something that really resonates with people.

Why the ‘negative money’ grind is part of the dream
Here’s the thing: for Conner, the slow climb is the fun part.
Every canyon run, every tank of gas he pays for himself, is another chapter in the story he’s telling.
The S2000 couldn’t be a better symbol – high-revving, and built for joy over logic.

When he finally hits monetization, the story only gets better: from paying out-of-pocket to living the dream.
And until then, he’s showing that car YouTube doesn’t have to be all big-budget builds and sponsor plugs. It can just be one guy chasing the drive that makes him happiest.
For now, the channel is still in the red, but if you ask Conner, he’s already rich in the only way that matters: 9,000 rpm, empty roads, and a comment section full of people who get it.
And if the laid-back community vibe is something you think you’d be into, you can subscribe to mellow_conner here.
