The cast of Friends were some of the highest-paid TV stars of all time – and here are the cars they first splashed the cash on.
The hit sitcom, which ran from 1994 to 2004, launched the cast to superstardom, turning them into household names.
When the show launched, the cast picked up $22,500 per episode, which rose to a whopping $1 million per episode in season nine.
The substantial figure made Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow the highest-paid TV actresses ever – and it was the show’s female stars who splurged the most when it came to getting a new car with their first big paycheck.

Like many celebrities, the stars of Friends wasted no time getting themselves a flash new set of wheels.
Aniston, who played Rachel Green in the series, has previously revealed that she treated herself to a cream-colored 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 with her first big paycheck.
Speaking to Popsugar last year, Aniston said she had had her eye on the car for years and always told herself that she would own it ‘someday’.
She eventually purchased the classic motor, parting with $13,000, but her joy was short-lived.
“I bought it. And then I dove it. And then I drove it again and it never drove again,” she said.
“It was a lemon.”
Ouch.
Things went a little better for Cox, who played Monica Geller in Friends.
She bought her high-end Porsche 911 before she even received her first paycheck.
“I bought a Porsche before we were even picked up,” Cox told Jay Leno.
“I bought a 911 or 993 or whatever it was. I had it for seven years. But I was overextended. I took a gamble and it worked.”
Meanwhile, Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay, revealed to Leno that she had opted for an Acura Legend.
Although the luxury sedan appears to be a slightly more humble option than her co-stars’ vehicles, Kudrow has since boosted her collection and has been spotted in a Porsche 911 Carrera.
LeBlanc, Schwimmer, and Perry were more restrained
Surprisingly, car-loving Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbiani, decided against getting a new motor with his first Friends’ paycheck.
Speaking in the same Jay Leno interview, he joked that as he was so broke at the time the show began filming, he bought himself some food rather than a new vehicle.
However, he has since more than made up for that with an enviable collection that includes a Porsche 911 GT2 RS and a De Tomaso Pantera.
Meanwhile, it’s unclear which – if any – cars David Schwimmer and the late Matthew Perry, who played Ross Geller and Chandler Bing respectively, purchased with their first paycheck.
But we do know that Schwimmer has previously been spotted driving a Ford Mustang GT, a Range Rover SUV, and a Jaguar XK.
And Perry, who tragically died in 2023, was the proud owner of a seriously impressive car collection, which included an Audi R8, a BMW 6 Series, a Lincoln Navigator, and a Porsche Panamera.
