Convoy of Lamborghini Urus take on Iceland’s off-road terrain

A convoy of 11 Lamborghini Urus have put their luxury cars to the test on the off-road terrain of Iceland.

The Lamborghini convoy drove through Iceland’s countryside for a month, putting more than 300 kilometers on the odometer each day.

The drivers navigated some of the most treacherous terrains including the base of a volcano in the Geldingadalir Valley.

Photos taken from the trip are incredible.

They show the lineup of bright-colored supercars against rocky, rugged backdrops.

The photos show drivers crossing waterways and even climbing mountains.

The convoy also drove through some of the most unpredictable weather conditions – sun shining one minute and torrential rain and winds the next.

The cars got so dusty at times that you could barely see their color anymore.

The Lamborghini Urus off road trip was part of the brand’s Esperienza Avventura (Experience Adventure), a series of events designed to test the capabilities of its cars.

More than 50 people flew into Iceland from across Europe and the Middle East to be part of the event.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann even joined the convoy.

“It was extraordinary to see so many Urus all together in a setting like Iceland, with so many different routes and road surfaces in which to put them to the test,” he said.

As part of the Esperienza Avventura series, Lamborghini will also visit Norway, Andalusia and Transylvania.

The Lamborghini Urus is now the brand’s best-selling model, taking over from the Gallardo.

The Urus accounted for roughly half of the brand’s sales in the first quarter of this year.

In fact, Q1 of 2022 was Lamborghini’s most successful quarter on record.

The Urus also accounted for more than 5000 of the brand’s 8000 vehicle deliveries in 2021.

So despite some raised eyebrows when Lamborghini first teased its SUV, it’s proved hugely successful for the supercar maker.
