This American Youtuber ordered himself a cheap electric tractor from China, only to realize it lacked a crucial capability.

Micah, the host of YouTube channel EbikeSchool.com, had ordered the tractor hoping he’d get some use of it in the US.

He filmed himself opening up the crate to reveal the tractor inside.

It didn’t take long for buyers remorse to set in.

Why this cheap electric tractor from China wasn’t quite what it seemed

Things were off to a bad start when Micah inspected the battery packs and saw that the terminals had began corroding, possibly on the journey to the US.

But that was nothing compared to what happened when the tractor was started up.

The noise that emitted from it made it sound as if it was about to take off into the stratosphere.

And the build itself wasn’t looking all that sturdy – zip ties holding components together doesn’t inspire confidence, right?

But ultimately, a tractor’s worth isn’t in its looks, it’s in its practical capabilities.

Could it do the basic duties of a tractor, like picking up dirt?

Well, not especially well – the tractor was soon losing traction as it hit the uneven surface.

And with a full bucket, the tractor tipped onto its front wheels.

You read that right.

This tractor can’t carry much dirt, which is a pretty crucial part of being a tractor.

You don’t need to be a farmer to know that.

“This was an interesting learning experience,” Micah told his viewers.

You’re telling us.

Imports from China can be a mixed bag

Micah’s not the first to order a vehicle from China with possibly unrealistic expectations.

In fact, here at Supercar Blondie, we got our hands on a fake Dodge Ram pickup truck from China.

We were pleasantly surprised with its appearance when it was unboxed, but upon closer inspection, the flaws began appearing.

That didn’t stop Supercar Blondie’s Alex Hirschi and Nathan Bain from putting its power to the test.

But sometimes imports can be pleasantly surprising – as was the case with this guy who spent $3,000 on the ‘world’s cheapest EV’.

Hopefully it doesn’t tip over like Micah’s tractor.
