This man bought a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye thinking it was a bargain but it might be too much

This guy saved a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye from the crusher by buying it for just $19,000.

That’s a great price for a Hellcat, in theory, because the one we see here is clearly in terrible shape.

Now the buyer is second-guessing his purchase.

It’s easy to see why.

There’s a reason why this Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye was so cheap

Lee Carter, the man behind the ScrapLifeLee YouTube channel, spent $19,000 to buy the cheapest Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye he could find.

He bought it on Copart, a platform where you can buy totaled supercars and exotics.

The Helleye is a muscle car that’s faster than some hypercars.

It is powered by a version of Dodge’s 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 that puts out 797 horsepower and 707lb-ft of torque.

The result is a 0-60mph time of just 3.2 seconds, and it can run the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds.

The problem, as we can clearly see from the pictures, is this car looks like it had a close encounter with the crusher.

The dashboard is deformed because this Dodge was involved in an accident and the airbags were deployed.

The A-pillars were severed in half in the accident, the hood and several other body panels are bent, and some are missing altogether.

The engine is still there, but it isn’t working, and it was pushed forward by the crash.

A Hellcat Redeye in perfect condition goes for about $100,000-$120,000 in the secondary market, so the $19,000 price tag on this one was definitely attractive.

But, for now, it looks like it still might be a bit too much.

What can you find on Copart?

Copart is a company that specializes in selling and auctioning cars involved in accidents.

They’ve got massive graveyards full of luxury cars scattered across the country, from the one in Miami to an equally large one in Los Angeles.

The cars you can find on Copart are generally heavily damaged, and not always that cheap.

That’s the case with a blue and ‘faceless’ McLaren MC20 that sold for six figures.

Then there’s the McLaren Artura that sold for six figures even though both the front and the rear section, and both flanks, were heavily damaged.

But sometimes you can indeed good deals, such as the cheapest McLaren 650S in the U.S. or a classic Mercedes that only cost $400.
