This ‘next-gen’ car wash in China leaves cars spick and span in seconds, and it’s left people shocked after it went viral online.
Tech enthusiast Tansu Yegen shared a clip of the car wash in action, garnering more than 2.5 million views on X.
The clip showed a Honda Accord sedan being cleaned within a matter of seconds.
But how does this technology work? And what does it say about China’s place in the world?

How this car wash in China has captivated the internet
In the clip, the car enters a bay in which high-pressure jets of water blast up from the floor to clean the undercarriage and the wheels.
Dirt and grime is cleared away, as the car gets engulfed in a mist.
Then, robotic arms get to work cleaning the car’s body, as nozzles spray water.

The foaming detergent covers the car, before the arm recirculated to release more water.
Before you knew it, the car was looking spotless.
When the clip started doing the rounds on social media, some were quick to remark that this was nothing special.

After all, we’ve come a long way since the days of a car wash meaning your vehicle would be scrubbed down with a sponge and a bucket of soapy water.
“China has automatic wash? Amazing We had that in Europe in the 80s,” one person commented.
However, it’s the length of time that is the key difference here – the Chinese car wash in the video is under a minute, while the average car wash in the US lasts between three to five minutes, GuessingHeadlights noted.

Is China leading the way into the future?
It seems like every other day, we’re talking about a way in which China has revolutionized some aspect of day-to-day life.
From artificial suns to off-shore solar farms, the country is making its mark on the world stage.
And that’s just the big stuff – even some comparatively mundane features are worlds away from what we’re used to in the west.
One American got to see this for himself when he visited the country, as he saw the ‘next-level technology’ that was keeping drivers accountable.
