China’s 1,000-mile EVs are set to make range anxiety a thing of the past as China begins to usurp its rivals from the West.
The country has seen rapid development when it comes to EVs, with the country’s manufacturers beginning to trouble Western makers.
Ranges of up to 1,000 miles are beginning to appear on electric cars. Something that would easily outdo any rival from America and Europe, and eliminate range anxiety.
Companies like BYD and Nio are on the ascendency. It will be fascinating to see just how far they go and how worried the West becomes.

Chinese company Changan Auto, a partner with Mazda, recently took the covers off the EZ-60 crossover SUV, and it’s already showcasing a very impressive range.
The company took the covers off the EV at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show.
The SUV has over 1,000KM of range, which equates to around 620 miles of range.

Changan is following on from the likes of BYD, which has also begun to worry its Western rivals with its own range of EVs.
The impressive Yangwang U8 off-roader is one of its most intriguing, with the tank-like SUV offering at least 620 miles of range.
These very impressive range statistics are a culmination of the rapid battery technology development that’s taking place in the country.
BYD is one of China’s biggest battery makers, as is fellow company CATL.
The latter recently unveiled a battery that is swappable in its EVs.
They can also recharge from zero to 100 percent in just two minutes.
When most people expect their EVs to take at least 20 minutes to charge, it’s no wonder American and European companies are looking over their shoulders.
One of the other impressive vehicles on show at the Shanghai show was the Luxeed R7.
This midsize SUV is part of a collaboration between Chery Auto and Huawei.

Thanks to the Huawei Giant Whale platform, it can recharge from 20 to 80 percent in 15 minutes.
With ever-increasing competition from China’s 1,000-mile EVs, the automotive market could be set for some pretty seismic shifts.
As 1,000 miles seems to be a realistic range target now, where we go from here will be truly fascinating.
