When it’s a hot day, there’s nothing worse than getting into your car because with all the heat trapped inside, it is often a few more degrees hotter than the outside.
This self-proclaimed car expert, Cole, shared a summer hack on the video-sharing social media app, TikTok and the public was certainly grateful for Cole’s help.
When you get into a hot car, your instinct might be to blast the air conditioning, but Cole has other ideas on how to instantly cool down.
According to Cole, your recirculation button, the button located near your air conditioning controls with a u-turn arrow inside a car icon, is your best friend.

No more suffering on a hot day
Firstly, Cole advises that the first thing you do when you get in your car is roll the windows down to get all the hot air out as quickly as possible, and then make sure if you run the A/C at the same time, that you turn off the recirculation button.
By letting the air con run without recirculating and having the windows down, you’re not recirculating the boiling cabin air.
After a few minutes, roll the windows and pop on the recirculation button and boom – instant cold air.
TikTok commenters celebrated Cole and his life hack with one saying ‘I love a good tip, thanks man!”
Thanks to Cole, boiling hot cars all summer shall be no more.
