A Colorado man has taken an aging Mazda Miata and completely overhauled it using budget-friendly parts from Temu.
What began as a neglected, rat-infested convertible with a shredded top and severe body damage soon became a labor of love.
Determined to make it his wife’s new daily driver, he sourced nearly every replacement part online, keeping costs astonishingly low.
The result is a quirky yet impressive mix of bargain-bin upgrades and genuine performance enhancements.

The Mazda Miata wasn’t in the best condition
The crew at The Rad Factory shared this Temu restoration on their recent video.
The project started with one of five Miatas in the household, long abandoned and in rough condition.
While the engine still ran well, years of neglect had left the rest of the car in dire need of attention.

Armed with a massive haul of Temu-sourced parts, from a $100 convertible top and $50 short shifter to $20 ‘Nardi-style’ steering wheel replicas, the rebuild quickly took shape.

Some components were so inexpensive they raised eyebrows, but this was part of the experience, like when this Atlanta man ordered a Chevy truck bumper on Temu and didn’t quite like what he got.
While the crew tried to use Temu as much as possible, for critical upgrades like Raceland coilovers, new carpets, and a proper Montego Blue respray, the team opted for reputable suppliers.
Temu car builds can be hit or miss
The restoration was far from easy.
Rust repairs, rat droppings under the dash, and a stubborn soft top installation tested the crew’s patience.
A major mishap came when the wrong bumper, which was designed for an off-road Miata, was painted and fitted, leaving an unsightly gap.

Despite setbacks, the team pressed on, embracing imperfections as part of the car’s charm.
Final touches included bronze wheels to complement the fresh paint, new taillights, and salvaged stock seats donated by a fellow Miata owner.
While a few details, like the missing radio and questionable carpet fitment, remained unresolved, the transformation from abandoned field car to vibrant weekend cruiser was undeniable.

When the dust settled, the once-forgotten Mazda Miata gleamed under the Colorado sun, ready to surprise its new owner.

This is not the first time someone has attempted a Temu car build.
A Florida man recently transformed a $3,000 BMW M3 into the ‘ultimate supercar’ using Temu parts, which is pretty neat.
However, it isn’t all good news, as this man realized that his McLaren from Temu is never going to stop overheating.
In fact, apart from trying to fix up your car using Temu parts, you can consider buying a vehicle from Temu.
This Idaho man bought the cheapest dirt bike he could find from Temu, and instantly found himself surprised by what he got.
