Cristiano Ronaldo’s most expensive purchase may have set him back $75 million, but he claimed it was bought ‘out of necessity’.
With a net worth somewhere between $1.2 and $1.4 billion, it’s clear that Ronaldo isn’t left for wanting.
He’s totally at ease to buy virtually anything he wants.
And yet, his most expensive purchase – as revealed to Piers Morgan – is still enough to make you wince. But was it money well spent?
Cristiano Ronaldo’s most expensive purchase was a ‘necessity’
Speaking to Piers Morgan on his show Piers Morgan Uncensored, the soccer star got candid on his feelings about wealth.
“When you reach some level, the money doesn’t matter anymore, in my opinion. But it’s always good to have more because we are human beings,” he said.
His sentiments aren’t quite as drastic as those of Lewis Hamilton, who argued that there should be a cap on wealth.

Ronaldo insisted that he wasn’t much of a big spender.
“I don’t spend money. For example, I don’t go shopping. If I go anywhere, I can buy whatever I want, but I don’t need that anymore,” he explained.
That claim might not carry that much weight based on his priciest purchase.
That being his Gulfstream private, which came with a staggering $75,000,000 price tag.
But this was no indulgence in his eyes.
This private jet would be considered a luxury to most
The plane certainly doesn’t disappoint, with two Rolls-Royce BR725 engines propelling it to a top speed of 611mph.
And that’s not forgetting the completely customized interior, complete with a telephone, electric oven, microwave, and more top-of-the-line furnishings than you can shake a silver spoon at.

It all sounds like a bit of a splurge, right?
But Ronaldo told Piers Morgan that this was something he had to spend money on.
“I buy [a plane] because I need it, because I’m not a normal person. I cannot be in airports. I buy because of that,” he explained.

While many will scoff at this reasoning, it does make sense.
Much like Taylor Swift, private jets may be the only way in which Ronaldo could travel without causing an absolute furor.
And this isn’t the only time he’s invested in some aviation – take a look at Ronaldo’s Bombardier Global Express XRS.

Inside the spending habits of a billionaire soccer star
When he’s not on the pitch or flying in his $75 million jet, Ronaldo spends time with his exemplary supercar collection.
How vast is this collection?
Well, given that he admitted that he has so many that he doesn’t even know the exact figure, we’re going to say it’s a biggie.
Fortunately for him, we’ve documented enough of his collection over the years.
His full collection is valued at over $20 million, and contains a 1-of-10 Bugatti Centodieci.
Other stand-outs among this hard-to-beat lineup include a Ferrari F12 TDF, a McLaren Senna, and a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

And as if all of that wasn’t enough, his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, decided to treat him on Christmas to a Rolls-Royce Dawn.
‘What do you get the man who has everything?’ is a question Rodriguez must be asking herself every year.
